Silky, deep slate blue and form hugging with a plunging neckline, Hermione admired the gown purchased to compliment her husband’s suit. Turning to the side, she noticed something small and green on her bum. Taking a step to the side, a step closer to the mirror, she peered at the green speck clinging to her dress.

Attempting to pluck the hitchhiker from the frock with her fingers, the emerald speck pierced her delicate skin.

“Ouch!” she exclaimed, sucking her forefinger for a moment before attempting it again. It was a little grass bur.

“How did you even get there?” she asked as she tried again. “Ouch!”

“Alright there?” asked a deep voice from the doorway. She turned her head, giving Sirius a coy, kittenish smile when he swallowed.

“I can’t get this sticker-y… thing, off of me,” she complained. She contorted slightly, twisting sharply at the waist, with her hip thrust forward. The dress’s material was pulled forward, sliding tight against her bum.

“Allow me,” said Sirius. His voice was a little hoarse as he spoke, his wand raised.

Hermione opened her mouth to thank him but yelped when the flick of his wand removed not just the tiny speck of green, but her dress as well.

“Sirius!” she exclaimed, and then grinned, recognizing that particular gleam in his eye as he moved toward her. “What about the gala?”

“What gala?” he purred, before pulling her fast and hard against his body.

Late to the Party...

Hi,

I have been going back and reading your stuff and I have to say that you're beginning to sell me on this ship. (Take that as a compliment, siriusly.) I have nothing against Sir/Her, but I have read some really BAD Sir/Her fics that it kinda killed it for me. Of course, there are bad fics in every ship, but I've read so much of "after Sirius came back from the veil and stopped drinking and womanizing and have his money to charity and found Jesus he realized his one true love..." I like your stuff because Sirius is still Sirius and their relationship is very believable! If that sounded backhanded it is totally NOT how I meant it!

Re: Late to the Party...

Wow... well thank you, quite a bit. And I definitely take that as a compliment. I love it when I hear that people hadn't considered the ship before, or didn't like it previously, but found something in my writing that came through as true. That's awesome! None of this sounded back handed.

I do know what you mean, though. I've seen your name on [livejournal.com profile] sirius_news (and more recently at [livejournal.com profile] sirius_writers of course), and if I'm not mistaken you're a Remus/Sirius shipper, are you not? That's usually a hard sell for this ship. I'm quite chuffed that you're enjoying yourself here.

And yeah... there is some really bad SB/HG out there. Scary bad, so you have my sympathies. However, I've got to be honest, 'come to Jesus'!Sirius sounds so deliciously awful. I knew you were joking and still wanted to read one immediately for the lolz.

I mod on 3 comms for the ship so I've probably seen most of what fandom has to offer. If you ever want a rec list just ask. Someday I will put them here on my journal but I've been so busy for the last 6 months.

Thanks for letting me know you stopped by. :)

Re: Late to the Party...

If I can find it I'll send you link. It was pretty damned funny. I mean, it was not quite THAT obvious but it was... bad!

No, I'm an R/S shipper, but I have an open mind. I tend to like Sirius with someone smart, witty, strong, and definitely non-traditional. One of my fave het ships is Sirius/Rosmerta, so there you go.

I had no idea that I was ever on [livejournal.com profile] sirius_news. Cool.

So you live in Austin, TX? Fantastic.

Re: Late to the Party...

Please do. I'm practically pining for it now.

I love Sirius/Rosmerta. I really love the idea of a young Sirius with older, wiser more seasoned Rosmerta. Guess I have a thing for Sirius and generation gaps. One of my favorite writers does a splendid job with that ship.

Well, [livejournal.com profile] sirius_news watches certain comms that are Sirius centric. If you've posted at one of those comms, then they will post a link to your fic. I'm almost certain I've seen you there but I've been wrong before.

Do you know Austin? I love living here. Lots to do.

Re: Late to the Party...

And that would be the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] duck_or_rabbit? LOL. Yeah, the only reason I've not written it is that husband is (gasp!) younger than me and I'd fear trading into the dreaded Mary Sueniverse!

I've only been through Austin, but it's pretty fabulous. Such a great music scene!

I love in nowheresville, Ohio, but have lived in LA, Seattle, Boston, and Cleveland.
