I didn’t read at rs_small_gifts today so no recs there. I spent most of the day trying to catch up on Kinky Kristmas and I am still not quite there. As for Kinky Kristmas, I submitted a fic last year there but my work schedule was so frantic that I couldn’t participate fully in the fest (in any fest this time last year) as a commenter and reccer. I felt genuinely bad about that. I made up my mind that this year I would. For most of the year only about 1% of my fandom participation doesn’t include Sirius. Yes, I know I’m horribly one note about him and I hear about lots of things I should be writing/reading/reccing but I can’t build enough interest. I suspect that if I ever tire of him I’ll fade from fandom, but I don’t see that happening any time soon. There is a point. I’m having trouble making it because I’m tired and rambly. The point: I’ve been reading outside my usual comfort zone and have been really enjoying it! I’ve even enjoyed fic with Snape and that is usually a no go for me. The writers and artists at daily_deviant are just so very talented and clever. If you’re not reading/viewing there already please give it a go. You won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful and achingly sad, this is really lovely. This is probably the most poignant piece from this fest I’ve seen so far.

A Rather Strong Argument Snape/Narcissa

Narcissa is absolutely gorgeous in this. The coloring is splendid and her clothes! Really lovely.

With the night comes the darkness Fred Weasley/ George Weasley

The subject matter is necrophilia, but the art is so gorgeous. The poses are so striking and the coloring is amazing.

To the Victor Draco Malfoy/Ginny Weasley

Really gorgeous art by a not so mysterious artist.

Nothings Lupin/Snape

This is such an intriguing piece of art. It is stereoscopic, which means that if you follow the directions you get a sort of 3D illusion. The art itself is lovely, very sensual.

The Minister's Office Harry/Tonks/Bill

I’ve seen this recc’d everywhere and with very good reason. This is fun, playful smut with a more-innocent-than-he’d-like-to-admit!Harry, but boy is he willing to learn (even if he does blush the whole way through). The banter between Tonks and bill is delightful and clever. This is lots of fun!

Gentleman's Agreement Harry/Snape

Generally, this is a pairing I cannot even wrap my head around, but this has such an interesting and clever premise. Harry will do anything for his son James, including bribery. He regrets it instantly and isn’t really thinking about what he is saying or who he is saying it to, but he finds himself forced into an ‘agreement’ with Snape. Snape is perfectly in character, and as unpleasant as I remember him from canon. Of course, he’s got a few extra quirks. This fic includes BDSM that has a very realistic feel to it. I really enjoyed this fic and I didn’t expect to.

Welcome Home Sirius/Draco

This was my pressie and it was so lovely. I love a well-written Sirius/Draco which is hard to do, but when done right it is just too delicious. Draco’s voice in this is really lovely and we all know how much I love Sirius in charge, yes?

Ipswich Flipswitch=One Witch, Two Witch Fred/George/Angelina/Luna (in varying assortments)

This might be my favorite from this fest. Fred and George brew a potion that turns them into girls. Their girlfriends, Angelina and Luna, have an awful lot of fun with that. This piece is fresh and original and tons of fun. George and Fred are hard to write in my opinion, they are just so clever, and the author has them wonderfully characterized in this. Fantastic piece.

Swingers Draco/Hermione, Ron/Pansy (from established Ron/Hermione and Draco/Pansy)

The premise on this one is so much fun. It’s essentially a key party, but they use coins that are charmed to match you with your ideal partner. The characterizations are spot on and the sex is scorching.

Not a pairing I read very often but it was recc’d to me for having a very good Sirius and I have to agree. This is quite a long fic, but with a very engaging plot, lots of snark and banter and hothothot pr0n.
