The small iron table they are sitting at wobbles as Hermione places her tea cup down. It is a lovely day on Diagon, and a pleasant hum of conversation builds as the hour works its way towards noon.

"I don't understand," says Lily. Her green eyes are actually more penetrating than Harry's. "I know you're attracted to him."

Hermione opens her mouth, but something in those emerald depths warns her not to attempt a lie.

"A witch knows," says Hermione simply. "And you- you've got it bad, and him!" Lily snorts. "Well, if you knew him like I know him, and Merlin knows I adore him, but he's never lost his cool over a witch before."

"Fine," says Hermione. "What's your point?"

Lily fixes her with another one of those looks. "Why just friends? Why not more?"

Hermione swallows tightly and looks back down at her tea.

Well done. I really like this. It's very poignant. Have you felt more than a slight tickle to dabble with the timeturner plotline in this 'ship? I could definitely see you expanding on this.

Have you read Darsynia's Then Shall I Know or Serade Black's reason for life? Those two pieces define well written time turner pieces in my opinion and I don't know that I have anything to add on the subject. Generally I avoid TT fic but these are so good, the first being iconic to the genre in my opinion, that I hesitate to try.

...I missed your reply by a good 2 months. Sorry about that.

Let's see here. I started reading both Darsynia's & Serade Black's stories about 2 years ago - both being WIP's at the time - bookmarked them, and basically 'banked' the updates so I could read the fic in its entirety (to the newest point) when I got to it. Strangely enough, it makes the wait between chapters not so long when I do this.

I've actually been following 2 other time-turner fics 'shipping Remus w/ Hermione. The one has updates so few & far between it's like reading it anew every time I re-read it, and the other was stalled for a bit, then a few chapters were added, & now it's stalled again. And then there's a 3rd I'm reading, that's focused on Remus & Hermione's friendship, but it's not 'shipping them. They're all of them a slightly different spin off the usual. The one has Hermione doing independent study while working for Madame Rosmerta; the other has Hermione attending / graduating Hogwarts & starting to set up house with Remus & adopting a child (I think? it's been a while since I've re-read it). The friendship one focuses on the changes that Hermione's presence has wrought in the past. Let me know if you'd like links to them.

Have you ever found yourself almost obsessive-compulsively looking for every fic you can find for a certain theme? Yeah. That's me & my little bit of OCD, which, let me tell you, has made keeping Harry Turtledove's alternate histories straight nigh on impossible - he's got 2 alt. histories involving George Washington & 2 or 3 circling around the U.S. Civil War.

That work in progress of Serade's is completed (not the TT but here TT was started this year) and Darsynia is still working on hers. 48 chapters and counting.

Hermione/Remus is not a pairing I dislike in anyway but not one I seek out either. They are so much alike that the chemsitry never really works for me. I like a bit of conflict between my MCs in a romantic pairing.

I wish their were more good TT fics for Sirius/Hermione. I'm pretty abreast of what is being written for the ship.

I haven't forgotten by the way, that I promised a drabble or ficlet or possibly one shot to go with that illustration. I'm writing for rs_games and in addition to my one fic for Team Canon, I also wrote two pinch-hits. It has kept me a bit busy.

Thank you very much for your kind words. I'll mull it over for when I get my new computer but I still have my young!Sirius travels to the future piece to finish when that happens plus some other bunnies are nibbling, all to do with Sirius of course.
