Summary: Placing one foot in front of the other, taking steps toward the kitchen, her foot caught on something and nearly brought her to the floor. The offending object was a haphazardly placed suitcase in the hallway, Sirius' suitcase.

Setting her keys on the long marble topped entry way table, Hermione breathed in the smell of home, a comfort after an arduous day in the musty bowels of the Ministry. Not that number tweleve Grimmauld Place didn't have its own smell, a formerly repugnant smell, when she was young, before this old haunt had been transformed, renovated and virtually given a lobotomy. Harry made it a showplace again, restored its grandeur while stripping it of its malintent. Now it smelled of oil polished wood floors, fine crafted leather furnishings, fresh air that stole in through opened windows and Sirius.

She pushed that thought aside because it hurt, it was an empty feeling, laced with regret and surprise. The surprise was the hardest to grapple with because she thought was smarter then this, smart enough to recognise her own feelings, smart enough to pick up on the clues he had been dropping about his feelings for her. The truth of the matter hit her at her desk at work that morning, musing over his reasons to get out and see the world, get away from all he knew and loved. He had to get away from her and her rejection.

Placing one foot in front of the other, taking steps toward the kitchen, her foot caught on something and nearly brought her to the floor. The offending object was a haphazardly placed suitcase in the hallway, Sirius' suitcase. The commotion in the hallway caught the attention of the only other occupant in the house who looked around the corner and down into the ancient hall, his face set in determination. Stormy grey eyes pierced her, seemingly rooting her to the spot with fierce intensity, exposing him completely. Any doubt she may have harbored was instantly burned to cinders and ash.

"I'm through with half measures with you, Hermione," he said striding forward, never dropping his gaze. Upon reaching her he gave her a light shove against the wall, forcing a small gasp from her. "I love you and I think you love me too." And then his lips were on hers, one hand on her hip holding her in place the other reaching into her hair to cradle her head. A brief touch of annoyance was dispelled as he robbed her of all rational thought, only permitting her to feel as he shared his fire with her, setting her ablaze.

"Am I wrong?" he mumured softly, tenderly as his lips nibbled at her jaw, teeth grazing her skin and tongue caressing hot and wet along her neck. Grabbing the lapels of his jacket for support she tried to tell him that he was absolutely right and that she was a fool and thank god he changed his mind but all that escaped her lips was a pathetic whimper. Just as suddenly as his most welcome assault had started, it stopped as he stepped back cautiously to observe her, to gauge if he had in fact made an enormous, embarassing mistake.

Moving in step with him she did the only thing that made sense and went at him this time with every ounce of love and need that she had been repressing for god only knows why. Pressure behind her knees was the only warning before her feet left the ground and she was crushed against him, cradled in his arms, a slight noise of complaint slipping between her lips. "I didn't think he so," he said smiling with smug confidence, ascending the stairs, taking the steps two at time before entering his bedroom and slamming the door shut behind them.

Lovely! So much emotion of such different tones!

Also, and this is totally random - but have you changed the words at the top of your journal, about the sky and the flying carpet, or am I just totally oblivious? Either way, I really like them.

Yeah, the impetus for the change was the Audioslave song 'I am the highway'. To me its about self definition of my importance, my place in my world. I spent the last twelve years focused on my husband and his illness, his needs, what he wanted and I'm in the process of shifting that focus. I am not a means to someone else's end. I am the big picture or at least I want to view myself that way. Every move I've made, every single thing has been about him, I've been his ride and that is at an end, which is a good thing because I've not really given much thought to who I am.

Hold that thought, it's wonderful. xx

Lovely after a long gap....I almost crave for your style of writing now..perhaps a sequel?
By the way...you've got to tell me where you got that icon from as well as its sketch inspiration if it's not too much trouble...please!

From: [identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com

Sequel? Ah...you want some smut, naughty girl. I'll see what I can come up with.

The icon I just happened to stumble across. If you look on my user pics page you can see who I snagged it from. Feel free to take it and give them the credit of course.

I usually cheat and open a post italicize and then copy and paste the html. It is em to open and /em to close.

I have to comment you. I just stumbled upon your work a day or two ago, shortly after just stumbling into the world of HP fanfic in general, so I'm REALLY a newbie. I have to tell you, your stuff is like crack. Seriously - I'm on CH37 of Innocence and I CANNOT STOP READING. I am truly impressed and more open minded now. I never took the idea of fanfic seriously, and it's wonderful to see someone take these beloved characters and run with them. Only, you seem to do so with a great deal of art and depth and class. The erotica aspect is so well written, and I am absolutely loving the rollercoaster overall. Not to mention now I'm utterly addicted to the notion of Hermione/Sirius :)

I have blown almost every minute of my spare time reading this lately, damnit.

Thank you so much for creating something like this and sharing it.

Ah, well...welcome to the dark world that is hp fanfic! I'm pleased you are enjoying Innocence. It has been a joy to write, I'm kinda sad its almost over (2 chapters left).

Let me recommend you to [livejournal.com profile] seradesfanfics. She is my favorite Sirius/Hermione writer and the reason I am such a junkie now.

You'll have to use her archive to get to the beginning of Necessary By The Order (complete) which is another marriage law fic. My favorite of her stories is Returned which she just finished. Reasson For Life is her current work in progress and she is about 7 chapters in.

Another spot to get your fix is Granger Enchanted.
I like anything by Inell or Wickedswanz.

You can take your chances with Fanfiction.net (the link should be good), right now I am currently enjoying Then, Now and Always.

Glad to have you aboard. Fanfiction is like crack!

To read a marvelous drabble during vacation period in this awful weather is soooo good.

I'm glad I've finally found an internet connection in this forgotten land, I was feeling so lost

From: [identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com

You told me once where you live and I apologize for having forgotten. I thought you mentioned being in school once before, can't you get internet access that way?

From: [identity profile] lakshmi-black.livejournal.com

I'm from Porto, Portugal and yes I've just finished university but my older cousin asked me to babysit her kids while she and her husband work (kindergartens/preschools in Portugal are closed in August) so I'm with my aunt (her mother) in her holiday destination of choice this year which just happens to be a little village in the countryside that is not even on the map so the wireless net is almost nonexistent in most of the village except apparently if you sit in this bench near the city hall (ah city hall, it's a tiny house with flowers by the windows) and fortunately there's a playground in front of it, so my godchild and her sister spend afternoons there because the pool is closed (it's windy and there's no sun).

It probably wasn't the wisest of choices but I've just had surgery and the big city's life (lol not as big as american towns) is too appealing for someone who still has stitches. I do miss the sea though and the seagulls. Boy did I write, don't get me started, this really is boring and I need action.

Update soon please, I'm really curious about "Breathe".

PS: I'm glad you're doing fine with everything, best wishes *winks*

From: [identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com

I hope there is nothing serious wrong that required surgery. Are you alright?

I would not be a happy camper if I was denied internet access.

Your English is astonishingly good! You have mentioned concerns in the past about it. Just out of curiosity, what is your degree in? Do you plan on working outside of Portugal eventually?

Sorry that you're stuck in the country with nothing to do. My dad is from this really small town in Texas and every Summer we would trek back there for a couple of weeks with the rest of the family who would come from around the state and country for an extended family reunion. The nice thing about small rural towns in Texas is the boys. Most of the ones I knew worked with their fathers on family ranches so they were muscular and tanned and...

They really do breed them quite nicely in Texas.

I have a little over 2500 words towards the next chapter of Breathe. The last couple of nights I've been getting out about a 1000 words done so maybe this weekend?

Thank you. No one is more surprised or pleased that I am doing as well as I am.

Oh yes, I'm fine, just an inguinal hernia, nothing serious, too much sport in my childhood I guess. Thank you for asking.

Yes the lack of internet can be compared, I think, to a handicap.

Thank you, I try to read as many books in english as possible (and fanfiction) to improve my grammar. I'm a bioinformatic, actually I've jut received yesterday the letter of acceptance to an University in UK to take my MSc in applied bioinformatics. I'm really really happy, it makes this little village more cosy and bearable.

Aw, lucky you, unfortunately in here the person with the closest age to mine apart from my little cousins is my aunt who is 58.

Yey another chapter is out already. I'm even more happy.

Best wishes, I'm sure everything will be great from now on.
