Have you guys been looking over the prompts at [livejournal.com profile] rs_small_gifts ? Do you know what you want? I am currently trying to finish up my Kinky Kristmas piece so that I have the time to write the one I want. I think I want it. I think. It is the craziest one on there and it looks like fun.

Do you have yours picked out? Will there be a blood bath to get the one you want?

Talk to me people, I'm clearly trying to procrastinate.

Would I be repeating myself entirely too much if I picked the space pirates one? It just makes me happy on the inside.

From: [identity profile] rhye.livejournal.com

I just read them and my thought was, "I bet she wants the space pirates one." LOL

I think I'm just going to do some fluffy raising Harry or Teddy or both fic. There are a billion different prompts that could fit.

As soon as I heard that you wanted the craziest one, I had to go read through the list again. I figured you were talking about the space pirates.

I have a couple that I'm flirting with, but the trick is going to be finding a prompt that inspires, but doesn't inspire too much. I don't want to be spending all of November writing a huge fic when word limit is between 1-3k. ><

From: [identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com

Yes! Yes! I want the space pirates one! I want gay space pirates and going to an intergalactic LGBT group's non-denominational holiday party.

They're very easy going at [livejournal.com profile] rs_small_gifts. I know one fic last year ran over 13,000 words and no one said anything. It was great!

I have definitely seen a couple I really really want to do, and I also want to combine some stuff, as well. Rather than the blood bath, I'm worried I'll claim someone's prompt and they will be secretly groaning that I did.

And like, museme said, I'm was worried about 1K-3K turning epic. ;)

From: [identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com

OMG! No one is going to groan because you picked their prompt. Your stuff is awesome!

They aren't that strict about word count, really.

Also, space pirates and R/S make me think of a song I love--Dogs in Space. It's a great movie, too.

Might explode, out come dark, facing off into space
Dogs out there, floatin' 'round, it's rattling the human race
Dogs in space
Planet opens, out come dark, facing off into space
Underneath the eye of God, angels in the sham of dogs
Dogs in space, dogs in space, dogs in space, dogs in space

Warming coat, coats of gleam, threw up stars, charged and still
We are tough from an open can, dark flash in, can it be real?
Dogs in space, arf! arf!
No offenses, we are cats, they know cats, then we'd be mice
Master plan, massive dogs, run for cover, you don't look twice
Dogs in space, dogs in space, dogs in space, dogs in space

We're lost, we're lost...Ahhhhh...

Someone groaning because you picked their prompt? Dear, if they aren't jumping up and down with joy, there's something wrong with them.

I DO NOT have time for this, dammit.

otoh: ", R/S from another person's POV (plus points if it's Tonks or Walburga)."

I should give in and sign up, huh?

From: [identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com

*says without hesitation* Of course you should!

It's a tiny little thing. 1-3k. No sweat. You'll knock that out easy.

From: [identity profile] catbirdfish.livejournal.com

I have the perfect prompt picked out... I think. But it's a surprise. :)

I'm kind of sad that there aren't as many participants this year... and that there are fewer veterans signed up. Some of my favourite classic R/S writers are missing. :( Where's gryffindor_j, and midnitemaraud_r, and woldy, and, oh, a million others I can't remember at the moment? Not that I have anything against new participants (I'm pretty much in that category, having only participated once before). I just hope we're not experiencing a huge turnover in the R/S fandom.

From: [identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com

Look at you being sneaky. Alright then, keep your secrets.

I noticed that too. It isn't just R/S, the whole fandom is shrinking bit by bit. It makes me sad. Like you, I really did think some of the older fans would come out to play. They still might, maybe, or maybe they'll pinch hit or something. Who knows.

And I know what you mean, I am definitely a newbie, too. I was late to the party (late 2007) and started off in an obscure, tiny little ship. I sort of wish I had joined R/S fandom earlier because there is a greater sense of community here. There's just so much fun to be had.

From: [identity profile] myprettycabinet.livejournal.com

I know what you mean. It's much easier to read something when it's by someone you know is good.

From: [identity profile] werewolfsfan.livejournal.com

[livejournal.com profile] gryffindor_j put up a post about dithering over what to wish for so she will be signing up.

I on the other hand squeed out loud at some of the veterans that are still participating like [livejournal.com profile] such_heights, [livejournal.com profile] sullensiren, [livejournal.com profile] sea_shtick, [livejournal.com profile] liseuse, [livejournal.com profile] fullmoon_dreams, [livejournal.com profile] crooked, [livejournal.com profile] loneraven!

EEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee!!!!! This is always SUCH a lovely fest!

Ooo, I'm excited to participate in this.

Got started on some stuff yesterday, if you know what I mean, ;)

From: [identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com

Eeeee! I am so excited! My plan for today is to have the next bit and maybe more done today.

And so glad you are doing [livejournal.com profile] rs_small_gifts. The ship has lost some of its artists in the last year (i.e.[livejournal.com profile] spacefragments, [livejournal.com profile] remeciel) and it is so wonderful to get new ones.

From: [identity profile] deathjunke.livejournal.com

I'm going to stalk prompt claims. R/S from Walburga's Pov Screams to me!

From: [identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com

Yeah, there are like three of you that want it. I couldn't write but I can't wait to read it, whoever does it.
