I apologize for the lack of explanations for why these are worth the look or the read, but I am tired and will edit the post later. For now just know that these are my top pics from the games thus far and are the art/fic I have enjoyed the very most. I meant to do my top pics from bigbangblackout first but these are stacking up on me faster than I can keep track of them. All are R/S.

I'm just here snooping......I like your recs. Short and sweet!
For a while, I thought I was the only one who liked "Rose Castle" and I was disappointed because a true fairy tale like that is rare but now I've seen other fans so I'm good!

Oh snoop all you like, that's what journals are for, right?

I love Rose Castle, I really do. I have... issues with an effeminate or gender-swapped Sirius (but not Remus O.o- don't even ask me to explain, I can't) so when Sirius was still a boy and a BOY I loved it all the more. I mean I already loved it, it was written in classic fairy-tale style which was just so precious but then to have Sirius be arrogant and privileged it just sealed the deal for me.

I was initially shocked when the "princess" turned out to be a prince because it so read like a traditional Grimm Brothers tale. But the author totally carried it off, which made me like the tale even more!

I can read effeminate Remus but they will never be my favorites. I want to bop writers over the head and say, "He's a wolf .......?" Now beautiful, attention seeking, clothes conscious, bitchy Sirius can have a certain feminine side to me........

I can't say that they would be my favorite, but I can tolerate an effeminate Remus. A femme Sirius will pull me straight out of a story though. I'm sure this is because I'm pretty new to the ship (and getting sucked in liek woah) and my Sirius is always VERY male and usually a pushy, arrogant arse. I'm not sure I can see him any other way and believe it. On the wolf thing, surely not all wolves are alpha, and among his friends at school he was more of a follower, wasn't he?

There is virtually no canon on the Marauders school years. We know that McGonagall said the James and Sirius were virtually Pete and Repete with Peter Pettigrew as a tag along. Also, that James and Sirius were at or near the top of all classes seemingly without needing to work at it. Remus had a very big secret to conceal which he seems to have done successfully from most. So he must have made an effort to be inconspicuous in school. Also, he was a prefect so we can infer good grades and a sense of appropriate behavior. He said that he didn't try hard enough to put a stop to his friends mischief but Remus was extremely grateful to them for friendship and the Animagus project. Most Marauder fans take it to mean that Remus was sneakier. More of a stealth Marauder and perhaps even the planner or researcher of the group.....
One of the few things canon does give us is that it took 2 large animals, the stag and the dog to keep the wolf in check and that they were mostly successful with a couple of near disasters! So I'd say the wolf was the Alpha in that pack! The other thing that we have from canon is that in OotP, when Lupin said, "Sit!" Sirius complied immediately!

Which rather makes him sound like a ward, not a leader, at least to my ears. You've two boys in animal suits with slightly altered minds but still with enough reason to know who they are and what they are doing. Remus doesn't have that luxury as a wolf. He might be bigger and harder to control but he's got two boys who think of themselves as leaders working to control him. IDK, I guess that explanation doesn't work for me. As to the other example, I think Remus was stressed and trying to keep a tense (tbc)

situation from going horribly bad. I guess I see it as an anomaly and not a definition because we just don't see much of that sort of strength of will from him a lot. He's not what you would expect in a leader, he's not charismatic or particularly willful. I like him, but in my mind the answers are always a bit less dramatic, less romantic.
