Ron groaned a loud, lazy sound as he rose, pushing the chair back from the table. He blinked blearily at the waitress he'd knocked into another of the pub's patrons, mumbling his slurred apology to her irritated expression.
"Need to drain the snake," he said to no one in particular.
Hermione said nothing, simply opting to close her eyes in a protracted and long suffering moment of silence.
"Oh, yes," murmured Sirius sarcastically from across the table. "He's a charmer. How do you resist?"
Hermione glanced at him from under her bangs and felt her cheeks heat up. His dark locks partially obscured his pale orbs which peered intently from his handsome face, so forceful it was nearly a caress.
Before she could think of an answer, Ron was back. One glance revealing he had not washed his hands.
"So, Mione," began Ron.
"My name," she hissed as she rose to her feet. "Is Hermione." She took a deep breath and smiled apologetically at Harry before speaking. "I have to be up early, Sirius. Do you mind if we stay at my flat tonight?"
Ron choked on his ale.
"You're an idiot," remarked Harry casually to Ron. Sirius tossed the ginger a wide, victorious grin as he helped Hermione into her jacket.
"Night gents," said Sirius, as he guided a still blushing Hermione away from her friends.
Before she and Sirius were out of earshot she heard Ron ask Harry, "How long have you known?"
