Scared? A little. More like she is not willing to forgive him. She has a very disapproving nature and his behavior has tapped into that. There is a lot of attraction and personality conflict at work here. Chracters have to have flaws and some of hers and some of his are working at cross purposes to what he and everyone else can see, is a natural and almost instant desire for one another.
