The Art of Forgetting by

This was written for me by
museme87 and I couldn't possibly love this more than I already do.
museme87 is very in touch with Sirius' emotions, his reactions and feelings, and they all seem very natural and human to me, and very, very Sirius. She doesn't leave out the messy, either. This is and isn't just straight porn. Sirius wants what he shouldn't and blurts his thoughts to James, who, as it happens, was already on the same page. You have two spoiled boys who are pretty used to getting what they want, the fact that they might not ought to want it occurs to them, but is brushed away readily enough.
museme87 doesn't leave out the automatic reactions of jealousy and insecurity, which I think is what makes this so real to me, despite it being pretty much a fantasy set-up. She lets you in to see Sirius' thought process and by extension, Remus' as well. You seem them both enjoying partners they've perhaps only fantasized about before, but you also see that they are grounded in each other. You know by the end whose touch they really crave and know that the situation is one brought together more by the need to forget what they've seen, lose themselves a little in each other, and perhaps even tighten bonds that were already very close by taking care of each other.
To me, this was both touching and hot, and a reminder that the first war was nothing to take lightly. Give it a read, you won't be disappointed.
