Part 1 Sirius couldn’t remember ever being this happy. Remus had finally agreed to share a flat with him, something Sirius had been pleading for all through seventh year. James and Lily were a couple and they lived together, why not he and Remus?
All of Remus’ reasons and excuses came crumbling to nothing when Sirius, heart in his throat and sweat beading across his brow, said, ‘I love you, Moony; don’t you see? I love you.’ Remus had bloomed into a beautiful blush and smiled that little smile Sirius always wanted to kiss so he could make it his own. Then Remus had linked his arms around Sirius’ neck, looked up at him so sincerely, and said, ‘Okay.’
That was just the beginning. Next they had to pick a place and that was a headache all its own. Sirius eventually quit listening to Remus’ protests about what he could and couldn’t afford, and picked out a posh flat on London’s West End. When Remus opened his mouth to protest, Sirius had simply said ‘I love you. Let me do this for us.’ That blush Sirius loved returned and all the protests died, Remus looking at Sirius like he wasn’t quite sure he was real. Sirius was unashamedly pleased he had such a fantastic weapon. A simple ‘I love you,’ and Remus was putty in his paws.
Sirius wondered if he could take this so far as to purchase an elf. He didn’t fancy cleaning up after himself and if Remus had to do it all it would surely lead to arguments. Sirius made up his mind and so climbed the stairs up to their bedroom to let Remus know he was going out for awhile. He would evade if he had to and baring that, Sirius still had ‘I love you’ in his arsenal. He was still grinning at his own cleverness, feeling positively giddy at how well this was all working out as he entered the bedroom.
