Have you guys been looking over the prompts at [livejournal.com profile] rs_small_gifts ? Do you know what you want? I am currently trying to finish up my Kinky Kristmas piece so that I have the time to write the one I want. I think I want it. I think. It is the craziest one on there and it looks like fun.

Do you have yours picked out? Will there be a blood bath to get the one you want?

Talk to me people, I'm clearly trying to procrastinate.

I've skimmed them, but I don't have any firm ideas, no.

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Would I be repeating myself entirely too much if I picked the space pirates one? It just makes me happy on the inside.

[identity profile] rhye.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
I just read them and my thought was, "I bet she wants the space pirates one." LOL

I think I'm just going to do some fluffy raising Harry or Teddy or both fic. There are a billion different prompts that could fit.

[identity profile] museme87.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
As soon as I heard that you wanted the craziest one, I had to go read through the list again. I figured you were talking about the space pirates.

I have a couple that I'm flirting with, but the trick is going to be finding a prompt that inspires, but doesn't inspire too much. I don't want to be spending all of November writing a huge fic when word limit is between 1-3k. ><

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
I do! I do! Actually, I want to combine all three, well sort of. I want Remus and Sirius to be gay space pirates. Remus wants to drag Sirius to a non-denominational holiday party for an intergalactic LGBT group. Remus was raised on a very tolerant planet but Sirius' home planet is not so socially forward thinking and he's a little uncomfortable with the idea.

Too weird?

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! Yes! I want the space pirates one! I want gay space pirates and going to an intergalactic LGBT group's non-denominational holiday party.

[identity profile] rhye.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Interesting anyway! Mostly I'm glad you found a prompt that inspired you :)

[identity profile] werewolfsfan.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
I was soooooooo wishing that someone would pick that!

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
That's a nice way of saying too weird, isn't it? Okay, I'll calm down and rethink it.

I can't wait to read your raising Harry/Teddy fic. I love those kinds of fics so very much.

[identity profile] werewolfsfan.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
They're very easy going at [livejournal.com profile] rs_small_gifts. I know one fic last year ran over 13,000 words and no one said anything. It was great!

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
I want it so badly. I want to combine all her prompts into a big fun mess but maybe that is too weird?

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I remember that. I'm not going to stress if I go over.

[identity profile] eprime.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
I have definitely seen a couple I really really want to do, and I also want to combine some stuff, as well. Rather than the blood bath, I'm worried I'll claim someone's prompt and they will be secretly groaning that I did.

And like, museme said, I'm was worried about 1K-3K turning epic. ;)

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
OMG! No one is going to groan because you picked their prompt. Your stuff is awesome!

They aren't that strict about word count, really.

[identity profile] rhye.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
The premise doesn't attract me, but what matters is that it attracts you. Write what you like, no matter how weird it seems to me!

[identity profile] eprime.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Also, space pirates and R/S make me think of a song I love--Dogs in Space. It's a great movie, too.

Might explode, out come dark, facing off into space
Dogs out there, floatin' 'round, it's rattling the human race
Dogs in space
Planet opens, out come dark, facing off into space
Underneath the eye of God, angels in the sham of dogs
Dogs in space, dogs in space, dogs in space, dogs in space

Warming coat, coats of gleam, threw up stars, charged and still
We are tough from an open can, dark flash in, can it be real?
Dogs in space, arf! arf!
No offenses, we are cats, they know cats, then we'd be mice
Master plan, massive dogs, run for cover, you don't look twice
Dogs in space, dogs in space, dogs in space, dogs in space

We're lost, we're lost...Ahhhhh...

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Point well taken. And it does attract me, a lot. :)

[identity profile] eprime.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
I hope not, but YOU NEVER KNOW! ;)

Yeah, and also there's the bonus round, too, which sounds cool to pick up on other things that caught one's eye.

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
I love that! I don't think I've seen that move. Oooh! Sirius could be a shapeshifting race! And Remus... I'll have to think of something not quite so obvious. Maybe sexual.

Oh, poor [livejournal.com profile] such_heights. I don't know her but I hope she doesn't regret putting that prompt up there.

[identity profile] eprime.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
lol, I'm sure she'd be thrilled one her off the wall choices got picked.

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
I was so swamped with work this time last year. It exploded just as [livejournal.com profile] rs_small_gifts started posting and I was working tons of overtime and I didn't have time to read or review and certainly play in the bonus round. The way things are shaping up, this year might not be much different. We're rolling out a huge new component that has a dozen sub-components on the 29th and testing will intensify from now to February. Another reason I'm trying to get things finished up.

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Here's hoping.

[identity profile] ceredwensirius.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
I just watched that, lol. Garage bands, gotta love em.

Supporting this idea so hard.
