Oh, this is lovely! All of the imagery is so vivid that I'm incapable of saying which phrase works just so. It all does! I especially like that Remus has an apprenticeship of sorts that he is really looking forward to. That did hit me in the ending of "And a Star to Steer Her By" because while it was very romantic that Remus agreed to go back to sea, despite his hatred of it, on Sirius' boat. But this is a role that I can believe he would treasure and Remus would have eventually wanted to be more than the Captain's boy. Such a satisfying sequel! And did I mention scorching?!
