Title: Of Adventurers, Maps, and the Stars
Author: Ceredwensirius
Written For: [livejournal.com profile] help_pakistan, recipient [livejournal.com profile] werewolfsfan
Prompt: For my prompt I was given my choice of the following three options:
1- Expand, remix, prequel or sequel anything you've written before.
2- Pick an unused prompt from mini_fest.
3- Halloween (don't worry about timing, I always luv Halloween)
I went with option number 1.
Character, Pairing: Sirius, Remus; Sirius/Remus
Word Count: 2,838 (I did not count the words from the original text which are there only as a lead in)
Warnings: Oral sex and a fat load of Sirius using sex as a weapon
Rating: NC17
Summary: On a pirate ship, every hand must have a job. Sirius helps Remus to sort out what his will be.
Disclaimer: Characters are not mine.
Author’s Note: I am very pleased to be able to help this effort, even if only in such a small way. [livejournal.com profile] werewolfsfan thank you for the opportunity and such a fun prompt! I do hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. It was so much fun revisiting this verse and I doubt this will be the last time. I will probably delve more into life with the crew but that will have to wait until, well, next year most likely. Anyway, this is mostly pirate shmoop and smut. Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] whitmans_kiss for the beta.
Author’s Note 2: This was written specifically for [livejournal.com profile] werewolfsfan and as an expansion to an existing story. If you haven’t read And A Star To Steer Her By parts of this will be a little confusing. This is not a stand alone piece.

To perform the task properly, he would need to learn how to use the tools of the trade, tools he had only handled when cleaning them under the careful watch of an officer or the admiral. Surely Sirius wasn’t offering him so much. )
Recs! Whee! Okay, first. OMG. [livejournal.com profile] rs_games started posting!! The mods did a great job choosing their starter guns. Now, as one of the co-captains for Team AU I will admit to a bit of bias for my team but really, everything posted today was just incredible.

Okay, now, first the [livejournal.com profile] rs_games recs. Now, I am going to give you the order you should read and view these in. Well, in my opinion anyway.

First, go look at this incredible piece of art. We ALL know who is responsible for this little bit of canon acheyness but of course we all have to smile and wink knowingly at each other like we don't.

Team Canon: Entre chien et loup :: G.

Next, go read this. This is a gorgeous gut-twisting story that left me absolutely breathless and on the verge of tears. As soon as I was done reading this I said, "oh god, I need a drink."
Team Canon: Take This Longing :: If Remus doesn't need him anymore, then what's the point of anything? (April 1981) :: NC-17 -- Explicit sex, strong language, jealousy, suspected infidelity, violent images.

The reason you read that one first is that this story can cheer you up and put you back together. The mods did a beautiful job of pairing these stories together. Yes, I know I already said that but it bears repeating.

This is light-hearted fun that will have you cracking up until you've got tears in your eyes. Tears of laughter, that is. Hilarious, heart-warming and funny.

TEAM AU!!!: What Always Was Sirius Black and Remus Lupin are friends caught up in the same dilemma: trying to find the perfect man. Why is it so difficult to find someone who is perfect for each of them? :: PG-13.

There. Feel better? Thought so. Alright, now go look at this little bit of gorgeous steampunk whimsy. Just really delightful and happy.
TEAM AU!!!: Flight Some things are inevitable. :: G.

Crack_Broom )

And, and... hm, well, we're making progress on [livejournal.com profile] rs_remix We've got a timeline set and are working on the rules and such so this is really happening. I am going to have to be a bit tougher than I was with [livejournal.com profile] rs_career_fest but I'm trying to set the tone with the rules from the outset so maybe I can fool everyone into thinking I am one tough customer. Yeah, shut up. Quit laughing. You know who you are.
Title: And A Star To Steer Her By
Author: [livejournal.com profile] ceredwensirius
Prompt Number: 119 submitted by [livejournal.com profile] tarasinecera
Rating: NC17
Pairing(s): Remus/Sirius, James/Lily, Moody/Shacklebolt, Hestia/Emmeline, Remus/various OMCs
Summary: In which James and Sirius are pirates, Lily runs a brothel, Peter is a sailor, and Remus is a lot of things.
Warnings: (highlight for details): *Minor Character Death, Enslavement, Drug Use, Violence, Language, Sex, Abuse of Authorial License*
Word Count: 21120
Author's Notes: Thank you dear prompter for giving me so much to work with. I enjoyed writing this tremendously and I hope that you enjoy reading it. This is a quasi–historical (heavy on the quasi)and non–magic AU. I borrowed from British naval history and the Golden Age of Sail, but this piece cannot be nailed to any point in history, and I even made up facts when it suited me. This is a love-at-first sight bodice–ripper of sorts and should be taken with a grain (or perhaps a bucket) of salt. Major thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] whitmans_kiss for the fast beta, I honestly don’t know how you do it, and more thanks to my other beta [livejournal.com profile] flaminia_x for pointing out some serious problems and telling me whoa, try that again, please, and final thanks to [livejournal.com profile] toujours_nigel for always giving me your honest opinion and pointing me to the concept of 'mateloge'. Clearly it takes a village to write a fic… or something.

I've left prompts at both [livejournal.com profile] hd_fan_fair  and [livejournal.com profile] teddy_fest , both with background R/S and both got picked. How awesome is that? The [livejournal.com profile] teddy_fest  fic has James II/Teddy as the main pairing. I only left the prompt at [livejournal.com profile] hd_fan_fair  to be supportive of the mods who have been so supportive of [livejournal.com profile] rs_career_fest  but now I am really excited to see what gets done with the prompt. I wish I could write H/D but I can't wrap my head around antagonistic pairings, at least not for writing, anyway. I've read a little H/D, mostly that of [livejournal.com profile] catsintheattic  and by the end of the fics I was convinced, but I still can't write it. Probably for the same reasons I can't write Sirius/Snape. I can see the appeal of the pairing but I have a feeling that if I tried both boys would be horribly OOC as I tried to make them both behave nicely and be all saccharine. Anyway, I just love the thought of Greece as a getaway for spoiled purebloods who all have summer homes there or something. Of course, this love is heavily influenced by [livejournal.com profile] toujours_nigel  who put it in my head in the first place with Cygnus Black way back, but whatever. I still love it and I love it even more when pureblood religious roots are steeped in Greek mythology. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] toujours_nigel  for that. I didn't include that in the prompt but maybe it will get worked in.

[livejournal.com profile] rs_career_fest  is almost completely wrapped up and I still can't go over how awesome all the fic and art was and what a great response the fest had. Reveals go up in a a little under a week and I can't wait to for everyone to see who wrote what. I still have a few reviews to leave which I will get done before the reveals are up.

Next on my plate is a fic for [livejournal.com profile] eprime  who beat [livejournal.com profile] werewolfsfan  in an epic bidding war (okay, maybe only epic to me but it still made me grin and blush, those two were fierce!) at [livejournal.com profile] gulf_aid_now . I have ideas and ideas and ideas. I've got the first sentence written and after that it pretty much writes itself. As soon as my reviews for [livejournal.com profile] rs_career_fest  are posted that will be next priority.

After that I start major research for a fic that is probably beyond my actual abilities but I'm going to try anyway. I can't say more than that because it is for [livejournal.com profile] rs_games . Suffice it to say, I am intimidated and have probably bitten off more than I can actually chew.

And lastly I've been thinking of posting my [livejournal.com profile] bigbangblackout  fic to my AO3 account. It is a huge oneshot and I've gotten complaints at grangerenchanted and ff.net that I should have broken the fic down into chapters but I seriously don't know where the breaks would be. So. Still hemming and hawing over that.

Not much RL to tell that is worth telling so I'll let this be a fandom post. I really wish I could rec all the [livejournal.com profile] rs_career_fest  fics but as a mod that sort of thing is frowned upon I understand. So I will resist. Though, I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] crack_broom  and I'm flying in September. I can rec there, can't I? Thoughts?

Anyway, I haven't had a how are y'all post in awhile, so how are all of y'all doing?
