I don't write a refined Sirius most of the time, I just don't see him that way. I take my inspiration of him from canon (not the films) and attempt to be as true as possible, some extrapolation is necessary of course but you know what I mean. He's a rough, rough boy (man, whatever) to me.
I'm glad the guilt comes through. I mean it is a little cliche'd (the godfather thing) but it is also unavoidable due to the age difference. He would expect her to see him in a certain light (sort of the way Lupin does with Tonks) and might not consider that the feelings run both ways; hence the guilt. Humor is not something I consider my strong suit so I am glad that is working here.
I would love to have a picture of my face the first time I read cunt in fanfiction. I was such an innocent (laugh if you want). I am so over that now. Because this is viewed through Sirius' eyes I thought it important for the language to be a little rougher which is why I have the word cunt straight out of the gate.
I am tickled beyond anything reasonable that you liked my smutty writing because yours is just some of the best I've ever read. I am in danger of printing and framing this review.
The validation, yes, well...there is just no getting around this for me. Hermione is special, would be special to him whether he had a romantic interest in her or not due to her tie to Harry. I wanted the fuck in the nightclub because as part of a challenge for a community whose sole focus is the creation of smut, it seemed that I needed to up the anty a bit and for whatever reason these two being in a long standing relationship didn't work for me, not with the other elements I wanted to include. Then it becomes a different story, am I making any sense?
Another thing I can't get away from is the core dynamic I attribute to these two and that is one of almost religious reverence coming from him to her. I touch on this in some of my drabbles but more to the point I could and would never write a story where he fucked her and then forgot about her. Just not even possible in my little corner of fanon.
