Re: fill! 6/? - whoops, last one was part 5

When the door to their dorm opened, Remus knew he shouldn't have been surprised. He'd heard the footsteps outside, but hadn't considered they would be James and Peter, instead assuming that they belonged to other Gryffindor boys in the tower.

"Shit!" Peter cursed. Remus, startled, tried to pull away. He was incensed to find he had to forcibly remove Sirius's hand from his hair before he could stumble backward, trying simultaneously to wipe his mouth, gasp for breath, and hide his own tented trousers. He did not think he was terribly successful on the latter, though he wondered how much it mattered at this point. They'd walked in on him shirtless and going down on Sirius. Was it really so important that they not know Remus was enjoying it?

"Oh, hullo lads," greeted Sirius, lazily smirking and not bothering to tuck himself back into his pants. His cock gleamed with a thick coating of precome mixed with Remus's saliva. "Don't mind us, Remus is just finishing out our wager. Right, Moony?"

Remus felt his face heat up and he frowned, humiliated and angry. "Don't talk about me like I'm some tart," he grumbled, both quieter than he had intended and not what he really wanted to say. Why hadn't Sirius locked the door? Better yet, why did Remus assume Sirius would have such foresight?

And the best question of all, how had Remus allowed things to get to this point?

James looked from Sirius to Remus, and back to Sirius again when Remus looked away. He cleared his throat once, twice. In any other circumstance, Remus would have been happy to make a joke about Prongs being speechless for once. Now, however, he wished James would just come to his senses and say something--anything--to bring the whole debacle to an end.

In fact, it was not James but Peter who jolted them all out of the frozen silence they found themselves in. Finally unable to put up with the tension, he backed up out of the room and left without a word, his rapid footfalls on the stairs echoing after him. James gave Sirius one last look before he followed suit, pulling the door shut loudly behind him.

Remus stared after them, not sure what he'd expected. Later on, he would rationalize that it was logical that Peter would flee, and that James would have trusted him and Sirius to sort things out while James went to get Peter and minimize damage. Later on, he would tell himself that James and Peter hardly even understood what it was they had walked in on.

Right now, however, he felt a distinct pain of abandonment and betrayal.
