Apparently it's really easy to import all your content to your DW account. I haven't investigated it yet, but I've heard this from several people. It's still a problem that LJ has a much larger proportion of active users and communities, but I'm hoping their latest fuck up will trigger the start of a mass exodus to DW. Like you, I'm not too worried about my friends cross-posting content. But I figure we shouldn't have to put up with LJ's horseshit. They obviously don't respect our privacy and, as someone else pointed out in another comment, "on a bigger scale it undermines the entire pseud culture here on LJ" (not my words, but I really liked that phrase). I don't know, it's possible to make DW fandom's new home if everyone agrees to move, including community maintainers.
