I realize this is probably a crazy thing to be thinking about in the middle of summer, but...

harry_holidays sign ups are going on now, which is why I thought of it. So...... what are my options, guys? What winter fests are you doing? I know that I'll be doing something for

daily_deviant and

rs_small_gifts and I've been toying with the idea of

hp_yule_balls , but I don't know what else is out there to choose from. I promised myself that I would not load myself down with fest fics this year but come September I won't have anything to write about and I will have missed the sign ups. I suspect this will make me whiny. When do sign ups for

rs_small_gifts start? Couldn't I have either the

harry_holidays or

hp_yule_balls (I am NOT NOT NOT doing both) fic wrapped up before sign ups for

rs_small_gifts even got off the ground? Same for

daily_deviant . Ack. Are there any other Remus/Sirius fests? Oh, oh! There is

brighty18 's fest, isn't there? I didn't do it last year because I was swamped at work.

Oh, oh, oh! Speaking of which. I ran across something today!

crack_broom is hazardous for my writing. I end up reading pairings I don't even like. And worse! No Sirius! *gasps*

Anyway, over at

lupin_snape (don't ask me why I was reading there, I don't even like the pairing) they have a remix challenge just for that pairing. Why doesn't Remus/Sirius have that ~~(does not want to mod another fest, does not want to mod another fest, does not want to mod another fest)~~? Remus/Sirius should totally have that. Someone needs to get on that pronto. ~~Not me.~~

Dark hair fans over cream-coloured pillows, an ebony halo around an angelic face, body perfect and still in slumber, and Remus wonders how this man, alive with a manic, insane energy while awake, could be so peaceful and innocent when sleeping.

Sirius paused in the doorway to the basement potions laboratory, wrinkling his nose at the putrid smelll coming from Hermione's cauldron; he lounged against the door, and gave a petulant huff because Hermione had, as yet, not recognized his presence.

"Don't give me that, Sirius Black," she said, not looking up from her work. "You know what happened the last time you brewed this potion."

From another room, a baby starts to wail.

AHHH! I didn't even think of them together at that moment as intimately as you have them until the last sentence. Brilliant characterization and build up with so little words. :D

Mischief-makers, the Marauders are, but when the lights go out; it’s Remus arching up and grinding against Sirius that makes them unable to meet each other’s eyes in the mornings.

Ah, lovely, love the guilt. It is that in between time, before boys become men. I love it!

Remus knew making friends was dangerous. What he never expected though was to feel so alone, so cut off when he realized his friends could never know him fully.

Oh, poor thing, I just ache for him here. I see a young Remus here who hasn't shared any part of his secret, but he can't ever fully share what is in him, can he? Oh, poor love.

There are 142 species of the plant Remus is pruning. And Sirius wonders, not for the first time, how come when Remus spouts out unnecessary information, it lodges in his brain.

You are a doll to use so many of the prompts.

I love this because it says a lot about what Remus means to Sirius, that this useless bit of trivia (useless to Sirius who is not pruning) stays with him because Remus is important to Sirius, therefore what is important to Remus is important to Sirius. You packed a lot in there, very nicely done.
